Pressure is a sense of stressful urgency caused by having too many demands on one's time or resources.
It is normally associated with feeling overwhelmed and largely regarded as a negative feeling. However, times of pressure can often bring out important things from us. These things brought out through pressure may not always be positive, but we always have the capability to make them so. For example, when you feel swamped by work demands you may notice that you become very impatient and quickly irritated - these are character traits brought about by the pressure. Before this people may have commonly regarded you as rather reserved and calm, yet they were only seeing you while you were relaxed and unburdened. The revelation of your dormant character traits give you points of development. The pressure exposes the areas in which you need to improve in.
We should stop viewing pressure as the enemy and start seeing it as a form of accountability. pressure keeps us in check by revealing to us what we hold underneath our picture perfect image. When it gets hot the facade begins to melt. Pressure exposes who you really are and a lot of us aren't as nice as we think.
In this life pressure is inevitable, so rather than running away try and stand your ground in it and work through whatever is overwhelming you with a grace that is unshaken by life's demands. And if you do mess up big time see it as an opportunity to learn - a revelation of the parts of yourself that need a bit of work.
Pressure will become your greatest friend when you realise how essential it is in improving your character.
